August’s Third Saturdays will feature programming by VIDIUM, along with art, music, films, videos, installations, and workshops throughout the afternoon and evening.

VIDIUM is a community space catering to experimental sound and performance. Through collaborations with artists, VIDIUM produces challenging interactive installations and videos. Brothers Gregorio and Eduardo Alvarez began their support of the Miami music scene in 2012 with their video diary project Audio Junkie. Now, with VIDIUM, they continue to assist and document local artists, also exploring visual glitch media and electronic synthesis.

7–7:30PM
HAUTE TENSION MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Haute Tension (formerly Mo'Booty) is a surf punk trio from Miami with a hypnotic sound, featuring bassist Monica McGivern, guitarist/vocalist Alexandre Merbouti, and drummer Cody Mentelos. In preparation for their debut album release on Sweat Records, Haute Tension are playing 31 concerts in Miami-Dade County, one concert a day, for the month of August.

7:30–8PM
KENNY MILLIONS MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Kenny Millions is an American jazz multi-instrumentalist, avant-garde performance artist, and poet. In the late 1980s and early ’90s, he performed with experimental musicians including Garrett List, Rhys Chatham, Philip Glass, and Laurie Anderson, and was associated with John Cage. During that period he developed a conceptual style of musical performance that he refers to as Multiplexmulti. Kenny also invented the Hum Ha Horn, which is featured on some of his early recordings.

8–8:30PM
HOLLY HUNT MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Drummer Beatriz Monteavaro and guitarist Gavin Perry capture the meditative power of repetition and the ecstatic joy of tempered variation, creating infinitely undulating riffage and psychedelic drone paired with rock n' roll rhythms. Holly Hunt produces a stripped-down sound and style that far transcends such rudimentary tags as “heavy,” “hard,” and “brutal.”

8:30–9PM
NAIL CLUB MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Nail Club combines fake memories of a happy 1980s party with the paralyzing indifference of a dystopian future to synthesize a grim present.

ABORSCHTIONS: BORSCHT
BEYOND FILM SCREENINGS
It's time to see what the Borscht Corporation Summer Interns, also known as The Aborschtions, have been creating in their studios at the 777 Mall for the past couple of months. Enter the Borscht Cinematic Universe (BCU), where the floor is always wet, sentient “globsters” have risen from the depths, white feminism is a political party, IKEA is trying to kill you, God is a woman, cactuses carry the souls of deceased loved ones, women are cultivated as flowers, Lyft is better than Uber, race is separated by cliques instead of skin color, Hialeah is like, the spot bro, and gender? I don’t even know her. The Aborschtions are: Alejandro Martinez, Aminah Brown, Andrea Luis, Claudia Rodriguez, Melanie Wu, Maggie Gault, Milly Cohen, Nestor Trujillo, Noah Kaplan, Pedro Bello, Sabrina Linares, and Wyatt Bergwin.

“GAINESVILLE SHUFFLE” FILM SCREENING PRESENTED BY VIDIUM
